JAMB releases more UTME results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) made an announcement on Tuesday that an additional 36,540 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results, which were initially withheld for further investigation, have now been released.

This brings the total number of released results to 1,879,437, including the 531 results that were released the previous week. The board's spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this information in a statement released on Tuesday night.

JAMB also addressed and denied reports circulating on social media claiming that the outstanding 2024 UTME results were compromised due to a cyber security breach and that the board was considering rescheduling the examination.

The board emphasized that these reports were false and urged the public to disregard them, stating that they were created by fraudsters aiming to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

Furthermore, JAMB highlighted that a fictitious letter, purportedly from the board and claiming that the outstanding 2024 UTME results had been compromised, was being circulated on social media. The board clarified that the letter did not originate from JAMB and warned the public to be cautious of misleading information from sources not linked to the board.

JAMB also reassured the public that the UTME results from 2024 and previous years are secure and not stored in any cloud storage, making them inaccessible to hackers. The board mentioned that some results had been withheld for further scrutiny, and after completing this process, the findings would be made public.

Additionally, JAMB expressed concern over the misleading comments made by some officials from private institutions regarding the "low cut-off marks." The board clarified that the minimum admissible scores are determined by individual institutions before being debated and agreed upon by all Heads of Institutions at the annual Policy Meeting on Admissions.

JAMB cautioned against misinformation from sources not linked to the board, including religious organizations that may be making false representations to the government for personal gain.

In conclusion, JAMB urged the public to be cautious of misleading information and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
