Anambra State Police Arrest 48-Year-Old Gunrunner, Recover 375 Live Cartridges


The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 48-year-old gunrunner, Felix Owaya, from the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, along with the recovery of 375 live cartridges.
State Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed in a statement issued on Monday in Awka that Owaya was apprehended on Saturday at 1:30 PM by police operatives from the Fegge division while patrolling along Niger Street, Onitsha.

During interrogation, Owaya confessed that he had been sent by Mr. Charles Ogboma to an unidentified man to collect the ammunition.

Ikenga added that the investigation is ongoing. “The Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, commended the officers for their vigilance and tenacity and directed all personnel in the Command to maintain the momentum in crime prevention and detection for the service of the people of the state,” he said.
