In a swift response to swirling political rumors, the Obidient Movement has firmly denied that their governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, has withdrawn from the Edo State gubernatorial race in favor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo. 
Speaking to the media on Friday, representatives of the Obidient Movement dismissed reports suggesting Akpata’s supposed exit, calling it a calculated attempt to mislead voters ahead of Saturday’s pivotal election. 

They reaffirmed that Akpata remains fully committed to the race, emphasizing that his candidacy is driven by a vision for a new Edo and is not swayed by political pressure.

“This is nothing more than false propaganda to create confusion among our supporters,” said a spokesperson for the movement. “Akpata has not, and will not, step down. We are here to change the political landscape of Edo State,
