The Chairman of the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, has confidently stated that President Bola Tinubu is destined to win the 2027 presidential election, citing his administration's bold policies and ongoing economic reforms.
In a statement released in Abuja on Friday, January 3, 2025, Zazzaga dismissed criticisms from the Kano State New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chairman, Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, who had earlier warned Tinubu to prepare for defeat if he sought a second term.
Dungurawa, speaking in Kano, accused Tinubu of implementing anti-people policies and expressed confidence in Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as a more favorable candidate for Nigerians in 2027.
Reacting to these remarks, Zazzaga described Tinubu’s reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the Naira, as courageous decisions necessary for Nigeria’s economic revival.
“There is no magic that will make Tinubu lose the 2027 presidential election,” Zazzaga declared. “The policies introduced by President Tinubu are already showing results, and by the next election, Nigerians will fully appreciate the positive changes.”
He pointed to improvements in the foreign exchange market, increased oil production, and rising foreign reserves as evidence of the administration's success.
He also highlighted the elimination of fuel scarcity and anticipated further reductions in petroleum prices as signs of economic stabilization.
Zazzaga noted that Tinubu’s tax reforms, which he described as “pro-poor,” are designed to support small businesses and the masses, while infrastructural projects and security improvements across the North-Central region further solidify Tinubu’s achievements.
“The North-Central APC Forum has assessed the President’s performance in areas such as security, infrastructure, appointments, and economic policies, and we can confidently say he deserves a second term,” Zazzaga stated.
He added that the forum had endorsed Tinubu for reelection and vowed to work tirelessly to ensure his victory in 2027.
The APC chieftain also praised the improved security situation in the North-Central region, crediting Tinubu’s administration for creating a safer environment for farmers and other citizens.
As Tinubu’s policies continue to unfold, Zazzaga expressed optimism that Nigerians would see a fully restructured and thriving economy by the time of the 2027 elections.
