Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed deep concern over recent allegations involving Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Obi described the claims as “troubling,” urging for transparency and accountability in the face of growing public distrust in Nigeria’s leadership.
The allegations, which have not yet been officially addressed by the presidency, have sparked public debate and drawn reactions from various political figures and civil society groups.
While details remain unclear, concerns center around possible conflicts of interest and financial impropriety linked to Seyi Tinubu’s business dealings.
Speaking during a media engagement on Saturday, Obi emphasized that any issues involving the families of public officeholders must be treated with seriousness and investigated thoroughly.
“No one is above scrutiny, especially in a democracy. Allegations like this, involving the President’s family, must not be ignored. Nigerians deserve transparency,” Obi stated.
He called on relevant agencies to conduct impartial investigations to restore public trust and reinforce the rule of law. Obi also reiterated the importance of ethical leadership and accountability at all levels of government.
As public attention intensifies, political observers await a formal response from the Presidency or Seyi Tinubu himself.
