Benson stages a comeback in Nollywood with a role in Mercy Johnson's latest film.

Benson, a veteran actress, has made a comeback to Nollywood after taking a break from acting. She will be featuring in a new film titled “A Mother’s Son,” produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed.
 The movie boasts a star-studded cast including Mike Godson, Mercy Johnson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, and George Inaibeh.

In a behind-the-scenes video posted on Instagram by Mercy Johnson, the cast expressed excitement in welcoming the veteran actress back to the industry. Liz Benson, who was surprised at the warm welcome, expressed her joy at meeting her colleagues and seeing them in real life for the first time.

Liz Benson, 58, hails from Etinan, Akwa Ibom in southern Nigeria. She began her acting career as a child actress in 1971 at the age of five and gained fame after her role as Agnes Johnson in the television soap opera titled ‘Fortunes’ on NTA in 1993. Benson rose to stardom in the 1990s and appeared in several classic movies, becoming a household name in the early days of Nollywood. Some of her acclaimed movies include "Glamour Girls", "True Confession", "Diamond Rings", "Scores to Settle", "Evil Men 1 and 2", "Conspiracy", and "Dead End", among others.

Before her return to Nollywood, Benson had revealed that she is now a born-again Christian and preaches the gospel on a full-time basis as an ordained minister.
