Chadian official Alhadi Allaou Mahamat is set to play a central role when the Super Eagles host South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo next month.
Mahamat, aged 38, has been an international referee for 12 years and has officiated in prestigious competitions such as the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. He also served as a referee at the 34th Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire earlier this year.
For the upcoming match, Mahamat will be supported by Sudanese official Mohammed Ibrahim Abdallah as assistant referee 1, Abelmiro Dos Reis Monte Negro from Sao Tome & Principe as assistant referee 2, and compatriot Pousri Armi Alfred as the fourth official. The encounter is scheduled to commence at 8pm Nigeria time on Friday, 7th June.
Furthermore, Ahmed Sayed Abou Elela from Egypt will serve as the referee assessor, while Ghanaian Munkaila Nassam Adam will act as the commissioner for the Day 3 clash.
In addition, Ethiopian official Bamlak Tessema Weyesa, aged 43, has been appointed as the referee for the Day 4 encounter between the Super Eagles and the Cheetahs of Benin Republic at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Abidjan. The match will kick off at 4pm CIV time (5pm Nigeria time) on Monday, 10th June.
Bamlak Weyesa will be supported by compatriots Temesgin Samuel Atango as assistant referee 1, Tigle Gizaw Belachew as assistant referee 2, and Tewodros Mitiku as the fourth official. Djamel Haimoudi from Algeria will serve as the referee assessor, while David Yameogo from Burkina Faso will be the commissioner, and Ivorian Claude Elloh will work as the security officer.
Finally, in the WAFU B U17 Championship group B opener between Nigeria and Burkina Faso U17 boys at the Accra University Stadium, Ghanaian official Adaari Abdul Latif will serve as the referee. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm Ghana time (4pm Nigeria time).
