BREAKING: Nigerian Army Admits Overcrowded Detention Facility In Sokoto, Vows To Sanction Protesting Soldiers

In recent news, it was reported that a soldier identified as Lcpl Charles Ekefure with service No: 17NA/76/1660 was allegedly shot following complaints by some detained soldiers who broke out of their cells (guardrooms) in Sokoto State. The incident has raised concerns about the treatment of soldiers in custody at the 8 Division Garrison detention facility.
The Nigerian Army has since responded by launching an investigation into the viral audio visual footage of soldiers protesting overcrowded cells and poor feeding in the detention facility.

The investigation aims to determine the validity of the claims made by the protesting soldiers and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to improve the conditions of detained soldiers.

It is hoped that the investigation will lead to positive changes and improvements in the treatment of soldiers in custody throughout the country.
