In a highly anticipated and emotional reunion, Nigerian music legends, Don Jazzy and D’banj, have finally put their longstanding feud to rest after 12 years of separation.
The duo, who were once close friends and business partners, co-owned the now-defunct Mo Hit Records, which rose to prominence in 2004 and dominated the Nigerian music scene for several years.
The group included other top music artists such as Dr. Sid, Wande Coal, and D’Prince. The rift between Don Jazzy and D’banj occurred in 2012, causing the group to split, with Don Jazzy founding a new record label known as Mavin Records, while D’banj signed with Kanye West’s record label, Good Music, and established his own label, DB Records.
Although both artists continued to record hits and dominate the Nigerian music scene separately, fans have been hoping for a reunion ever since.
The reunion finally happened when D’banj released a now-viral video on Instagram to promote his latest single, 'Since 04,' which pays tribute to the Mo Hit Records era.
In the video, Don Jazzy and D’banj were seen hugging and exchanging pleasantries, putting an end to years of speculation and rumors about their feud.
The video was also a special tribute to comedian and social media influencer, Mr Macaroni, who celebrated his birthday on the day of the song release.
D’banj wrote a heartfelt caption, expressing his love and appreciation for Mr Macaroni and thanking Don Jazzy for his support over the years.
For many fans of Nigerian music, the reunion of Don Jazzy and D’banj is a dream come true, as they are both considered some of the greatest music producers and artists in the country's history.
The reunion has generated a lot of excitement and anticipation, with many fans hoping to see more collaborations between the two artists in the future.
