Edwin Clark, the Leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), In a recent interview shared his thoughts on the case of Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, who is being investigated for money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Clark urged Bello to face the charges laid against him in court and to stop avoiding the law. He also criticized Bello's alleged corruption and violence during his time as governor, highlighting the importance of justice being served.
Clark emphasized that Bello's case was a simple one and that he should answer the substance of the allegations against him.
He questioned where Bello got the money from and whether the money he paid to the American School belonged to him or the government of Kogi State.
Clark also spoke about the behaviour of the new governor, noting that he was running after Bello, who has been in power for the third time.
He urged the new governor to do the needful so that the youths in the country can have something to fall upon.
Clark also discussed his letter to the EFCC Chairman, asking him to revisit old cases of former Nigerian governors.
He expressed concern that some of these governors have been living free lives despite being found guilty of corruption and other crimes.
He attributed the lack of justice to poverty, unemployment, and joblessness in the country, which he believes has allowed some of these governors to become wealthy and powerful.
Clark called for the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Attorney General to grant EFCC autonomy to carry out its duties without interference.
