Atiku Abubakar has strongly criticized the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government, stating that they should be held accountable if any violence erupts in Kano State due to the ongoing dispute in the emirate.
Atiku condemned the Tinubu government for supporting the newly removed Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, by deploying security forces to accompany him to his residence during the early hours of Saturday. He emphasized that this action undermines the integrity of the Nigerian military.
He reminded the Tinubu administration that Kano State has a long history of peace and harmony, and any attempts to disrupt this peace will be met with resistance. Despite the dethronement of Muhammadu Sanusi II on March 9, 2020, Kano remained peaceful without any unrest.
Atiku unequivocally stated that if law and order break down in Kano State, particularly Kano Municipal, the Federal Government should be held responsible, as providing security cover for the former Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, to return to Kano is seen as an invitation to anarchy.
