The Kano State Government has publicly apologized to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, regarding allegations of involvement in the emirate tussle in the state.
In a briefing with reporters, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam, issued the public apology and stated that the government was previously misled into believing that the NSA was part of the plan. However, after a discreet investigation, the government now believes that the NSA was not involved in the crisis.
Abdussalam expressed, "We apologize to the National Security Adviser, his person, and office for any embarrassment and inconveniences this might have caused him."
He also mentioned that they were initially shocked when Ribadu’s name was linked to the plot to impose the deposed Emir on Kano using federal government might. Abdussalam acknowledged Ribadu’s integrity and stated that they were concerned when they found out that he was not behind the plan. He emphasized that they apologize for the misunderstanding.
Furthermore, Abdussalam appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the crisis in the state and ensure a thorough investigation into the happenings over the Kano Emirate tussle to restore peace.
