Nicki Minaj's fans were left frustrated when the American rapper's concert at Manchester's Co-op Live arena was canceled at the last minute.
This came after the singer's arrest at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on suspicion of exporting soft drugs.
Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, known as Nicki Minaj, is a Trinidadian-born rapper and singer-songwriter based in the United States. Dutch police fined her and allowed her to continue her journey.
However, her Manchester concert was postponed as she did not make it to the city on time on Saturday. About 20,000 fans had waited at the concert venue for the star.
One fan, Imogen Pope, 18, from Newton-le-Willows in Merseyside, expressed her disappointment, saying she spent £150 for her ticket and booked a day off work for it. Similarly, Ellis Day, 17, from Cheshire, said he was "absolutely devastated" by the last-minute cancellation.
Reports from the BBC mentioned that there were some boos in the Manchester arena before everyone left following Minaj's failure to arrive. Videos on social media and flight data revealed that the plane thought to be transporting Minaj was still in Amsterdam when the Manchester show was postponed.
"I'm disappointed because I saw this afternoon that Nicki Minaj got arrested in Amsterdam," said Kian Young, 23, who had traveled from Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire. Many fans questioned why no official statement was made earlier.
