The Nigerian Police Division at Ezzamgbo in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was targeted by gunmen on Tuesday.
The attackers arrived on a bus and began shooting sporadically, causing panic in the community.
Fortunately, there were no casualties as the policemen on duty were able to repel the attack.
DSP Joshua Ukandu, the police spokesperson in the state, confirmed the incident on Tuesday evening to Channels TV.
He mentioned that the police operatives on the ground successfully repelled the attack, but a vehicle and motorcycle were set ablaze by the fleeing gunmen.
Ukandu also stated that the police are currently pursuing the attackers, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the attack.
