In a significant political shift, Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday.
This move marks his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Shaibu, accompanied by key figures from the Dan Orbih-led Legacy Group of the PDP, made his announcement in Benin, the state capital. Addressing the press, he stated, "On behalf of the Legacy Group, I announce our movement to the APC. We have come to add value to the party."
He emphasized the group's determination to revitalize the state's political landscape, asserting, "It is time to take back our state. We will not talk too much because action will speak for us. We are not afraid. We are ready to move forward."
Shaibu's return to the APC is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party's position in Edo State, with the Legacy Group's influence expected to bring substantial support and momentum.
