Convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, has issued a stern warning to the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding their handling of detained Nigerian youth, Bashir Abubakar.
Sowore claims it is evident that the DSS aims to buy more time to hastily prosecute Abubakar and send him directly to prison, mirroring the case of Junaidu Abdullahi, also known as Abusalma.
Sowore cautioned that such a move would have serious repercussions.
In a recent statement, Sowore emphasized, "It is obvious that the DSS wants to buy more time to rush Abubakar to court and send him directly to prison as they did to Junaidu Abdullahi, popularly known as Abusalma. Such an action would backfire."
Sowore's warning highlights concerns about the fairness and transparency of the legal process, suggesting that taking Abubakar to what he referred to as a "kangaroo court" would not only be unjust but could also provoke public outrage and resistance.
The situation has drawn significant attention, with many calling for due process and respect for legal rights.
